New SAAQ regulation

What has changed

Since December 15, 2025, SAAQ-recognized training (PESR – class 1, 125h) is mandatory for any new class 1 licence. Current class 1 holders are not affected. Holders of a class 2 or 3 licence for 24 months or more may be eligible for a shorter, adapted training program (the bridge program).
